I was watching a video today of a instagrammer I really love and she went off topic and said that the reason humans brains started developing was because we ate meat. My question is why haven’t any other omnivores or carnivores brains developed the same as our if it was for that reason?
whats with the “im vegan” stereotype. all the vegans i know are reluctant to tell people theyre vegan and all the carnists i know love telling people why they cant be vegan and how much they love meat

The vegans are “having a heart attack” because this a strawman argument we’ve heard over and over. You can care about labor rights and also care about not supporting animal exploitation, and in fact, vegans often do. Case in point, slaughterhouses are one of the most dangerous places to work, most workers are undocumented POC, and they get all the trauma of killing several animals a minute so you don’t have to deal with the blood and loud noises and horrible smells of slitting an animal’s throat personally.
So stop using underpaid, undocumented POC workers to justify your discomfort with vegans. It’s cowardly, it’s insulting, and the end does nothing to help the people you claim to care about.
On another note, who the fuck would explain to you that they’re vegan when this is the kind of response they’re going to get. Vegans don’t explain their diet to you unless you ask, and sometimes not even then, because this is exactly the kind of reactionary, defensive response we get. No thank you.
It’s almost as if nobody wants to admit that they might not be prepared to do the work it takes to love somebody. And it can be laborious. To be intimate with someone who is flawed (which is the standard) requires us to expose our own flaws. We don’t talk about the heavy responsibility of that. We don’t talk about how we’re too lazy or too cowardly sometimes. We instead accuse love of being elusive. It isn’t. It is omnipresent. It asks us to be better people. And sometimes we flat out refuse.

feed them back to the hens, or use implants to stop them laying in the first place (which will hugely prolong their lives and health).

Did i just read with my own two fucking eyes that people implant chickens with something to make them stop laying eggs. like, you realize chickens lay non fertilized eggs regularly because that how their anatomy fuckign works. holy shit. they are literally chicken periods people dear god.
‘chicken periods’ lmao and people say its the vegans who say that. chickens don’t have wombs. it’s not menstruation. last time i checked periods didn’t involve laying daily eggs that takes 10% of your bodies entire calcium.
‘it’s how their anatomy works’ because it’s been bred to be. jungle fowl lay one clutch (5-12) eggs a year. we’ve bred that to be over 300 yearly. bulldogs can’t breed naturally, pugs have breathing problems, sharpeis get pyoderma. ‘how their anatomy works’ doesn’t automatically mean harmless.
Not to mention the fact that hens can gain most of their nutrients back from their eggs. it’s really not that fucking gross. if we can eat eggs why cant the beings who make them???
People eat their fucking placentas but god forbid we give some eggs to the chickens
